Sick of the Traffic Queues?

We are here to garner support for a proposed ring road to the north of Warkworth. This concept was submitted as part of the Warkworth Rural Urban Boundary submission process to Auckland Council's Unitary Plan for the next thirty years. The Plan calls for a five fold increase in population and without sensible new roading infrastructure this will only serve to worsen traffic queuing problems at the congested Hill street intersection. We call for an immediate bypass of Warkworth by starting the RONS Motorway in the North and heading South with a possibly temporary connection to SH1 to the south via a local road through the land in the southern extents of the rural urban boundary. This will have some effect on congestion at Hill Street but the major relief would come by taking Sandspit and Matakana roads' traffic, destined for north and south of Warkworth away from the intersection altogether. A possible solution is displayed in the video below.

Please share this page with others in the greater Warkworth community.
