Matakana to SH1. Discussion
The Trucks carrying metal for the construction of the motorway would use this by-pass alleviating the traffic congestion at Hill Street intersection.
Obviously lights or a roundabout would be required where this connection to Matakana road intersects with SH1 to Warkworth .
The road alignment below is indicative only however it does consider the boundaries of the QEII bush reserve and attempts to minimise impact on other pockets of bush. It also ends at an existing intersection of Clayden Road with Matakana Road.
